Emergency changes to the guidebook

  • DAILY BAG LIMIT INCREASE FOR TIGER MUSKIE: Cottonwood Reservoir (Uintah County) (PDF format)
    • The daily bag and possession limit is increased from 1 tiger muskie over 40 inches to 2 tiger muskie of any size. This change is effective from May 1, 2013 to January 1, 2014. The Division's Northeastern Region Office has plans to treat Cottonwood Reservoir to remove carp, black bullhead and other undersirable species in October 2013. Limits are being temporarily liberalized to allow anglers to harvest fish that would otherwise be lost.
  • DAILY BAG LIMIT INCREASE FOR RAINBOW TROUT: Ken's Lake (San Juan County) (PDF format)
    • The daily bag and possession limit for rainbow trout is increased to 8 trout. This change is effective from May 13, 2013 to January 1, 2014. Drought-like conditions will require the lake to be drained to low levels. The low water level at the lake will likely result in the loss of stocked rainbow trout. Limits are being temporarily liberalized to allow anglers to harvest rainbow trout that would otherwise be lost.
  • DAILY BAG LIMIT INCREASE FOR TROUT: Spirit Reservoir (Daggett County) (PDF format)
    • The daily bag and possession limit for trout is increased to 8 trout. This change is effective from June 1, 2013 to January 1, 2014. The Division's Northeastern Region Office has plans to treat the Middle Fork Sheep Creek drainage, including Spirit Lake, with the piscicide rotenone in September 2013. Limits are being temporarily liberalized to allow anglers to harvest fish that would otherwise be lost.
