Emergency changes to the guidebook

• ANTLERLESS DEER HUNT #111 CANCELLATION ORDER: Panguitch Lake, Panguitch Valley unit (Garfield County)— (PDF format)
  • Due to concerns about adequate access to private lands and the relatively low number of permits associated with this hunt, the Division is canceling this hunt for 2010.
• ANTLERLESS ELK HUNT #582 CANCELLATION ORDER: Plateau, Fishlake-Thousand Lakes unit (Sevier and Wayne counties)— (PDF format)
  • During the fall and early winter of 2009, antlerless elk permit holders enjoyed a higher than average success rate. A recent winter storm has created circumstances that could lead to a higher-than-average harvest rate again this year. Because of these circumstances, the Division believes that it is in the best interest of the resource to cancel this third hunt in the unit for 2010.
• DOE PRONGHORN HUNT #886 CANCELLATION ORDER: Plateau unit (Wayne and Garfield counties)— (PDF format)
  • Summer surveys indicate that the Plateau pronghorn is currently well below the population objective of 1,500 animals and that fawn production is far below the average for this unit. Thus, this hunt has been canceled.
