The Utah Division of Wildlife is planning to transplant California quail (valley quail) from urban areas to state Wildlife Management Areas and other publicly accessible land from December 2014 through March 2015.
Volunteers are needed to locate trapping locations, set traps, check traps, and notify the division when quail have been captured for pickup or transport them to release/pickup locations. The Wasatch Front (Weber, Davis, Salt Lake, and Utah Counties) are the working areas for this project.
Quail traps will be provided by the division.
To participate in this project volunteers must provide at least one, preferably two California quail trapping locations in areas not otherwise accessible to hunting.
