Don Paul
Don Paul is a life-resident of Utah. He spent the lion's share of a 37-year wildlife career working on, around and with Great Salt Lake resources and those that live in nearby.
Don is no stranger to ACI, having received ACI awards for Television and Print projects. He is a noted authority on birds of the Great Salt Lake. During his tenure on the Great Salt Lake he organized a massive monitoring project to survey bird use and logged over 9,000,000 birds in a single season of the five-year project. Other highlights of his career include establishing peregrine falcon nest sites in Utah — the first such sites west of the Mississippi River, creating the Great Salt Lake Bird Festival and co-authoring Raptors of Utah.
Upon retiring Don took a position with the Intermountain West Joint Venture as Intermountain Region Bird Conservation Coordinator.
He is a devoted family man and enjoys cultural events, theater and opera with his wife Kaylene and their three children.
