Dave Chanda
Dave Chanda, a certified wildlife biologist with a Masters in Public Administration, has been working in the field of wildlife education for more than 25 years. He serves as president for the Association for Conservation Information and is also president of the New York Metropolitan Outdoor Press Association.
As the former Chief of the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife's Office of Information and Wildlife Education, Dave was responsible for a statewide program of fish and wildlife information and education, including hunter, trapper, fishing, and teacher education. He was so instrumental in bringing the popular Becoming an Outdoors Woman program to New Jersey.
An accomplished writer, Dave has written thousands of wildlife-related news releases for the radio, television and print mediums. He also has published dozens of articles for New Jersey Outdoors magazine and is co-editor of New Jersey Wildlife Profiles. Dave also served as a technical advisor on the Division's latest documentary about striped bass entitled Jersey Gold and two Emmy award-winning documentaries Bear Country — New Jersey and Deer Crossing. These videos have been shown on public television throughout the United States and parts of Canada and Europe.
Dave is an avid turkey hunter. His greatest joy is introducing novice hunters to the sport. He has successfully chased turkeys in the toughest hunting grounds of California, Virginia, New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
